3D model of a Sheikah Slate

Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Sheikah Slate.

This is the a 3D model of a Sheikah slate I have picked from the game Zelda: Breath of the Wild/ BOTW. This Sheikah slate is a stylised item that was a new object introduced to the game, previous games did not have a magical tablet that allowed the game player to use some sort of magic.

The Sheikah slate acts like the game menu where the player can locate the map of the world, choose different features i.e. camera to take pictures within the game, use magic that would stop or bind the “bad” characters. The slate also can help you to transport you to different location within the game so the player could reach far distance in short span of time. These are just a few of the features of the slate, the Sheikah slate has a lot more functions that the game player can use to enhance the experience of the game.

As we have been creating a card for the “House of Card” project, I think the Sheikah Slate would be made in a similar way, where the designer would have created a 3D model in 3Ds Max studio, using limited polygon so it dose not complicate the model to much and it would be easy to model. The texturing might have been done on photoshop or even a animation software to draw out the simple design of the blue eye and how there is this coral like groves around the frame of the screen.

I am also certain that there would have been an conceptual game art designer to make a drawing/ sketch of this slate and how it would look like within in the game.
