Me and Sam have had a long conversation and exchanged ideas. I discussed about the “Snakes and Ladders” idea for the game and the concept, Sam told me about his idea which is based on a 2D character in a 3D world, which is inspired by the game “Broken Age”. However what we thought is to have a world to explore the landscape and experience the atmosphere, which would be achieved by sounds, atmospheric sound to give you indication of what is happening in the world but not able to see it. keeping it ambiguous but, also giving you the experience. Both mine and Sam’s ideas are great but, stuck in a pickle of which one to do. one being very simple, “Snakes and Ladders” and the other having more opportunities to explore, “2D character in a 3D world”.

In this image me and Sam are discussing the creation of the character and its animation, done on 3D Max studio. discussing games and being inspired by “Broken Age” and “Journey”. We were also making decisions on how the camera will be focused, will it be free moving or kept static and focused so u would see the scene and the character move left and right and move into the distance.
What the world might have or be e.g. cave, city scape, cloud kingdom, a big room that looks like a ruin and just exploring that one room, desert and so on. Thinking about what kind of sounds we would use and I said that one thing should be most important and that will be the sound of the character walking so, foot steps.
