This project has been very exciting for me because, I have had the chance to make my own art work for the game and imagine what each scene would look like and then developing them further on Photoshop to get the exact look of the art work and how it would look like on Ue4. i was also excited about character design and visualizing what this androgynous character will look like.
I have also learnt that if I would like to achieve and learn more about concept art design then I would have to make more art work and really make them into textures myself then to rely on a team mate. I’m not saying that is an issue but, if I would like to have my imagination to come alive then I need to step in and really focus on how the scene should really look like and how the art work should be displayed in the game, to achieve this i have to do my own problem solving and develop my skills for texturing and the use of digital software.
I feel like we have achieved what we wanted but, we have definitely got few issues with the game where the character is glitching in scene 2 and 3 and trying to figure out how to make the scenes look like it has multiple layers and that its not a flat surface. That is something I will be talking to my tutor about and how to achieve it without those glitches and problems.
I had also faced a huge problem with the development of the character and not able to stick to my original design. That is due to the lack of skill and not really explored that field of knowledge. I will make sure that I learn the skills for character development and how to do the right texturing for that character by using UV mapping. Because I was so frustrated by not able to achieve my character i have to achieve it and getting excellent at it.
Working in a team has been a delight. Me and Sam distributed the game into several tasks and just got on with it. We would also discus how the game is looking in progress and how we would like some changes if a specific scene didn’t look right. It was a bit like I’m the director and he is the producer, that’s the kind of feeling i got and i am pleased with our team work and how well we have been together.
