Identify and explore game soundscapes.

This a 9 second video of a sound track from the game Beyonetta (WII U). The sound track is part of an action that the gamer will do while in a combat. Its the witch time, where once activated for about 9 to 10 second the time slows down and this sound track is played. This sound piece for me always indicated that the time in real life has also slowed down and the ticking of the clock, really makes the player feel that they have a limited time. The sound makes the game feel like that it is based in the med-evil time where Witches would have once existed.

Classic game, Super Mario 64, console N64. Now the Mario games always had a star which would speed up Mario’s movement and give him invisibility and the gamer knew that by the sound track in Mario 64, Mario can get the Wing Cap to fly around that level and the music would immerse the player and get them excited about Mario who can fly now. I think that this music really reminds me of my childhood and how I would relish in the music and it’s “campness.” If you listen carefully you can also hear the wind sound being played while Mario is soaring the sky. All of these sound elements makes the player know that the game character is flying and enjoying the freedom of the open plain.
