The final product.
I have made this game by being inspired by one of Salvador Dali’s painting where the art work is very surreal and almost like a dream, I will reference the image below the text. The inspiration for the mini-map and health bar came from art nouveau. where the partners would entangle and move in-between.
I have tried to make a more of a conceptual game where the player would get a chance to enjoy the art work that is created by me or photographs that I have took and placed it within the game. My whole motive to creating this game was to set a mood by the sound/ track and by using the lighting, to give a sense that you are in some kind of temple with weird art work floating around.
I have tried to achieve this by having the textures move around some of the blocks and stairs, where it feels like its a bit psychedelic, also where it makes no sense of why some objects are there. The work is not supposed to have a beginning or an end its a game where you would experience the art and the creativity that a gamer would put in.
If I had to progress further with this game then I would make the platform a lot bigger with more blocks and stairs varying in different size and width also, having platforms that would move in different direction, maybe having some blocks that would extend high up, where it would force the player to look up and see how far it would extend. I would want to make the game completely “wacky” and “mental” looking where it would make the player constantly wonder what each element would do.
I would even place more sound cue depending on the scale of the game so, each area that the gamer ventures into would get a different experience and feeling. The sound and art work would change the mood of the game, along with different light setting and how the objects would move.
This project was to explore how sound and art can set and change the mood of the game and how the gamer would experience it and I think I have just scratched the surface. I could potentially carry this project further into my unit 8 and expand on it. It does have a lot of create area for me to explore and I could even make my own concept designs to include within the game.
I might just explore this path and see what my tutor thinks of it.

Inspiration for my game came from this art work done by the painter.
