Project Proposal for Kalki’s Wrath.

Section 1: Rationale

The past 7 units I have done on this course has helped me to learn and equipped  me with essential skills such as, creating my own textures by drawing and painting them by hand for the project 2T3D, which was a partnered project with my class mate Sam. I also gained a high interest in sound production and creating Foley sounds and then turning them into sound cues in Ue4. Programming blue-prints, animations and modeling on 3Ds Max and Photoshop. These are the aspects that I am more interested and what I want to explore, especially creating/painting my own textures for my unit 8 project.

Section 2: Project Concept

I will be creating a movie in Ue4, approximately 5 minutes or less. I really want the movie to look like a piece of illustration that would mesmerism the viewer. to help create this movie I will be looking at videos on other animation or Disney movies/series and how they made their story boards. Looking at reading materials and scriptures for my own story to help me develop my own story board.

I have been looking into the game, Titled: “Gris” and “El Shaddai”. I very much like the way the game looks visually and how the colour pallet is soft and translucent like water-colour. The Resource material for the film and the concept of it will come from a Hindu Mythology that revolves around the apocalypses and the Re-incarnation of Vishnu as Kalki, his final and 10th form. This Mythology is based in the future which is 427,000 years from now. This concept of “future” meets “God” is very thrilling and has been looked into before but, I want to see how I can visually represent this. Also there are sevral mythological stories in Hinduism and has not really been presented into the main stream like the Japanese, Greek, Nos or other religion that has fascinating god stories.

Looking into…

Titled: “Gris”

“The Powerpuff Girls.”  Production and development.

“Samurai Jack”

 “El Shaddai”

Section 3: Evaluation

To evaluate my movie I will get tutorial at least once a week to help me how well the production is going and that i am not steering away or getting to ambitious with my work. I will also try to get feed back from my class mates by having them watch the film during production and get their expert adivse on what i could change or develop further and get some vital skills and knowledge of off them. During post production i would like to present my work on a bigger screen and have majoraty of the class watch it and then fill out a question-air so, I can do a final evaluation.

The concept and development of the movie could change during the production and this will be recorded as screenshots and videos on my blog. This will help me to reflect on the production and the changes that have occurred. I will be doing primary and secondary research by looking at other animated movie and how they have created their story boards, getting information about the Kalki story and cutting it down to explain the full story in short span of time, looking at colour pallets, comics, Indian paper theater, etc.  Doing the research will help me to develop my game and skills further and help me to evaluate this movie and how realistic I can be with this project.

Project action plan and timetable

Time Table

This time table indicates the days we have for pre-production, production, post-production and holidays. Right now production and post-production is blank because at this stage I don’t know how I will be developing the game and how much time will each segments take. Once I have done my pre-production I will have more of a clear understanding of how to fill in my time table accurately.
