I’d like to start of with where my inspiration for my photo-montage work came from. It’s from Linder Sterling, a UK based artist that specializes in photography, radical feminist photo-montage, and confrontational performance art. Her work emerges from the Manchester punk and post-punk scenes in the 1970’s.

The first time I came across Linder Sterling’s work was when I started to work at Nottingham Contemporary in May 2018, and that’s the time I was mesmerized by her work and how she was taking a political stance towards the female injustice. After looking at her work I thought of doing similar to Linder Sterling’s work and show the radical change in technology and how people are being affected by it. However my work is based on how people think that technology is going to leave people with no work and push them towards redundancy while Linder Sterling’s work is a stance towards the objectifying women.

These 2 images show what kind of approach I am taking to make my own photo-montage work. While she has used magazine cut-outs I have used secondary images from the internet and manipulated them on Photoshop.
