Daal are very well known in India, however the cooking method and the seasoning does change vastly. In Gujarat we use sugar in our daal and very simple seasoning, like turmeric, coriander powder, chilly powder, salt to taste and sugar, We do like our daals to be sweet and a bit tangy.

I am specifically picked out these images of snacks, because these snacks would be prepared during a festival and its mainly made of of gram flour or its some kind of pastry which is deep fried.

Not the most healthy street food, but then which street food is healthy. It could be deep fried fritters known as bhajiya, or in the England you would know it as Bhaji to a bun stuffed with spiced mashed potatoes topped with pomegranate. All these street food are adored by the public of Gujarat or Gujarati’s.
